At Project Linus, a non-profit organization, we make and provide handmade blankets for local children in need. Our blankets are lovingly made by adults, young adults and children from all walks of life.
Blankets are collected locally and distributed to children in hospitals, shelters, social service agencies, or anywhere that a child might be in need of a big hug.
The blankets are given to children through many organizations. Some of the most recent organizations that have distributed our blankets to children in need are:
Brandon Regional Hospital Pediatrics and NICU
AdventHealth Pediatrics
St. Joseph's Hospital South Pediatrics
Camp Mariposa
Pregnancy Care Center
Guardian ad Litem
Foundation for Dreams
Children's Protective Services
TAPS (the military's Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors)
If you know of a local organization serving children in need that would like to receive blankets, please contact us.
Project Linus receives many letters and thank you notes every year from children. Over and over they express how touched they are that a stranger would take the time to make a blanket for them. Purchased blankets are nice, but handmade blankets are from the heart.
